100 Years – Local Polonia Unites Around the Parish

Parish of St. Stanisław Kostka on Staten Island celebrates 100 years since the foundation stones for the construction of the church were laid.

As part of the celebration of the jubilee, a Mass was held at the church on Saturday, September 16 at 6 p.m., with the participation of New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan - during this Mass, the image of Our Lady with the Child Jesus, which is located inside the church, was crowned. The crowns for the occasion were blessed at the Vatican by Pope Francis himself, during a special audience attended by a delegation from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Staten Island. The solemn Mass was attended by representatives of American and Polish authorities. Congresswoman representing New York Nicole Malliotakis , emphasized what a brave nation Poles are, and what an important function the Parish plays for the local community. Consul General of the Republic of Poland in New York, Adrian Kubicki, conveyed greetings from Polish President Andrzej Duda, who happened to be landing in New York at the time of this mass.
